One of the most unique coins we’ve ever designed is a perfect 4D recreation of an Army Ranger hat, and all we needed to bring the coin to life was a simple picture!
From Picture to Perfect Challenge Coin Design
It all started with a simple request: a challenge coin that wasn’t just inspired by an Army Ranger hat but was a small recreation of the hat itself! Pictures of the hat in question were sent to our sales team, and our design and production teams began their work.
Using advanced 4D molding techniques, our production team used the reference images to sculpt a fully realized design that captures the creases and curves of the real-life hat. Details we added include the text emblems on the hat’s brim and the patches on the front and back of the hat!
We knew that the final product would have a highly detailed surface with lots of rounded edges, creases, and curves, so our design team recommended using antique plating. Using a high polished plating style would make the surface highly reflective and could possibly obscure the 4D detail. Antique plating has a matte finish that makes it easy to appreciate all the fine details crafted by the 4D mold.
The final result is unlike anything we’ve ever created before! It’s an incredibly realistic version of the Army Ranger hat that you can view from the front, back, side, or even inside when you flip it upside down! It’s an unforgettable challenge coin, and we’re proud of the amazing level of detail our team was able to deliver!
